We will be covering subjects like:

-    Data quality challenges in fast-paced delivery situations.
-    Creating actionable visualisations aimed for non-technical audiences.
-    How to create adaptive reports, allowing everyone to understand the narrative.

This session covers the technology and techniques which utilise spatial data to understand large scale climate risk as an insurance company. We will also hear from a data governance associate about her journey into data from a science background.

Come along to a series of interactive, lightning-style talks followed by Q&A where you will learn how advanced Data and AI techniques are being applied in the used-car industry, hosted by Motorway, the UK’s fastest growing used car marketplace. As a leading tech company in this space, our experts have championed the use of GenAI and Computer Vision to help make it easier for customers to profile their cars and would love to share their top tips for how you can embark on a similar journey.

This will be followed by an evening of networking accompanied by pizza and drinks where you can meet the team and connect with fellow Women in Data across a range of industries. We are also hiring for a number of roles across our data and tech teams, so please feel free to have a chat with us if you might be interested in learning more.

Women in Data® and Impactic are running an exclusive ‘Impactathon’ supporting the charity, Girls in Data - and you’re invited!

Why get involved?

  • Use your skills for good: Apply your professional expertise to make a tangible difference for a charity driving diversity and inclusion in data and tech.
  • Upskilling opportunities: Learn new skills, gain fresh perspectives, and tackle real-world challenges in a supportive environment.
  • Networking: Connect with like-minded professionals from across the Women in Data community, expanding your personal and professional network.

Purpose of the Impactathon

Girls in Data has big ambitions, but only a small team of trustees. As a newly established charity, it faces both strategic and operational challenges. We need your help to create a strong foundation and develop tools and strategies that enable long-term growth and impact.

Cost

£120 per individual participant. We will be donating a portion of ticket sales as funding for Girls in Data, which will support the education and training of the next generation of women who wish to follow a career in data & technology.

Skills & Challenges

Throughout this Impactathon, you will collaborate with a team, applying your unique skills to create impactful solutions for Girls in Data. We’ll be offering a diverse range of challenges, so everyone (no matter your skills or level!) can contribute!
Whether your expertise is in data, finance, marketing, strategy, or beyond, your involvement will help tackle real challenges to drive positive change.

Impactathon dates: 3rd-6th February 2025

Commitment across the 4 days: 

Monday 3rd February: Kick-off call (virtual)
3rd-6th February: Flexible participation, with a mix of optional sessions and individual / group work. Teams can decide to collaborate virtually or in person.
Thursday 6th February: In-person Impactathon wrap-up  (London, optional), for teams to showcase their inspiring work, network with likeminded professionals, and celebrate the collective achievements of everyone involved!
